Default Oversized?

Hi all,

I'm planning on purchasing a NS Proto HD. I wear a size 11 - 11.5", and I was wondering if I could still pull off the HD, rather than the HDX? Additionally, I am around 6,2" 208lbs. Regarding the NS chart sizing, it appears that the 163 HDX is my only option for this board. However, I'm trying to avoid using another wide board. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I ride the 160hd with 11.5 boots and large bindings without issues. I'm about your size.

The hdx is only about 1/4 wider than the regular HD, its not much wider, but you shouldn't have any issues with a HD.

I was just worried because the 160 hd says it's only for up to 195 lbs or something like that, and I fluctuate from 205 to 215. I wasn't sure how big of a deal that was. I was also planning on using some cartels for this board. Any other suggestions?

I prefer being on the biggest side of boards. I'm 5'7" and 180 lb and ride 160-166 boards for the most part. So I'd say why not the 163 HDX?

What hills do you ride at most? What style of riding?

The proto is blunted tips with early rise. The 160 is plenty of board imo. I hung around 215 all season. Enjoy.

Where & what you're ridin' plays a huge part in it

I rock size 9 booties & only weigh about a buck 70, but I get a shit load of powder

Some of my go to sticks are wides

I can down size a bit in length & go with the wide model.

Logic says it'll float me better

This is me on my Never Summer Heritage X 155.
Few days after a dump, thick heavy porridge.

If you never see powder, small & skinny 'll work,

But if you do? Long & fat

If you don't believe me? Ask the better half, what's the better ride?

Short & skinny or long & fat?

I ride mountains around Denver, mostly Vail and Breck. I'd say all mountain. I like trees and natural kickers, and don't find myself on groomers very often.

Get HDX 163.

If you don't, I guarantee, you'll wish you had.
