I am coming back to boarding after a ten year hiatus (due to related injury) and things have changed- a lot.
All I had ever ridden were stiffer cambered boards. I made it out 10-15 times this season on a hybrid Rossi but find its still too stiff to do the things I want to do. I love speed and laying down a carve but am looking to progress my freestyle skills in and (mostly) out of the park.
I'm interested in something I can butter. I can "press" a stiff cambered board just fine for jumps/spins etc. but its not at all the same as pressing a park board and buttering if you know what I mean.
Jibs and rails etc. may come this season too I think.
Available summer deals in my price range:
Bataleon Evil Twin Wide
Rome Artifact Rocker Wide
Rome Tour Wide
I've read everything available and am leaning toward the Evil Twin.
Main concern is that since flex is relative will the Evil Twin be soft enough for me to butter the way I want?
Safe bet for flex would be the Artifact, but I don't want to go overkill and not be able to ride anything but park speed.
I know these boards don't really compare well but any opinions or testimonials on relative flex would be great!
