I know its mainly a park board but do you think its manageable for I want to bomb down a hill. I can get the skate banana for 100 cheaper. Or is the proto hd just simply more versatile?

The attack banana is not a park board. It's an all mountain killer. You'll never have the confidence of camber when bombing but it would be the same with the proto. The skate banana however is a park board that will not be user friendly at speeds with its full rocker.

But the proto will be able to handle speed better than attack ban?

That's a relative statement. Both boards have camber/rocker/camber board shapes. There's no way to know whether that's true unless somebody has ridden both boards in identical conditions. Either one will do just about the same thing with some minor differences. Base structure being one of them. Some claim extruded bases are slower, but I haven't noticed a difference. Maybe because I'm not a pro. Maybe I don't go fast enough. I can say for certain you will enjoy riding either boards.

I'm worried about the proto hdx not being flexible enough for buttering/fooling around? Do you think its flex will be too stiff for buttering?

Wayyy too much anal retention over sizes, stances, and stats. My two cents: Get a board suited to your style instead of forcing your style into a limited selection of boards. IMO I highly doubt you'll be pushing your boards to their limits where you'll notice the difference between boards at such high speeds. So get whatever sounds more appealing to you.

Looks like the proto has more flex than the attack banana. I have the Attack Banana, and I never had buttering issues. My friends use the Skate Banana and also have no issues going fast so lesson of the story: it's up to you
