OMG another binding question...NOT REALLY!! - Snowboarding Forum

i got a new 08/09 burton custom with burton freestyle binding...
ive been riding it a few times neither do i like or dislike the freestyle binding despite everyone kept saying how bad it is...
only complain i have is: the binding feel flimsy and not durable...i think i cracked it near the heel cup when i was holding my board by one of the binding...

here is my question...
with all the sale going on now and the bad economy...would it be a good idea to get another set of better bindings now? or stick with the freestyle until the sale comes on again next year?

seeing how the cartels, union forces and k2 cinch ctc are all around 100ish now...should i just get them while the deal is on? do u think the new model next yr gonna be as cheap as now?

i know this might be a silly question...but i feel like i should take this opportunity while they are cheap...since im gonna have to upgrade the freestyle i have now into something better eventually...

never hurts to upgrade bindings.

for your board the freestyle bindings must really suck when carving hard or charging down the mountain.

its curious how you have such an advanced board and some really soft bindings.

get some bindings now and keep them fresh for the 2010 winter.

coz i didnt do much research on binding...and the local store i got my board from only have the freestyle, cinch and cartel left...so i was convinced by the hot chick that it is a good binding...lol

and part of the reason i wanna get new ones also coz i dont wanna wait till next feb/march...i wanna be out there with better bindings at the beginning for a fresh start of season =)

i think im leaning towards getting the union force on sierra for 99...jus not sure if the /lxl will be too big for my size 9.5 thirtytwo lashed boot....

red union force shud look good on my 154 custom....any comments?

union force is ok.the rome arisnal is a lot beter for free ride.the targa is good too.the k2 auto evers.

i upgraded from freestyles to cartels last year during the sale, just like you are thinking about. i had to stare at them in the box for 9 months, but i could not have been more pleased when the season rolled around. upgrading your bindings from freestyles to cartels (or similar) can make your whole kit seem brand new again...

sucks that sierra doesnt have anymore m/l for the union force =(

the only m/l forces i can find online now cost at least 160

It's already been said, but I'll reiterate--get rid of those Freestyles immediately. Interesting that you bought a relatively expensive board and got the cheapest bindings in their lineup.
