Detune (Capita)

Took my capita Mid Life out today. It rode nice, I caught a gnarly edge on a board slide first time through the park though. That was the only time that occurred today and it was a wooden box nonetheless. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has detuned their Capita. If so what what method did you use or whatever.

Take it to your shop and say you want a bevel on the edges for rails. For about $8 they will sharpen your edges and put the bevel on them so you don't catch your edges on rails.

Only problem with this is that turning because slightly harder.

Just my two cents:

Since your board is packaged as a park board not sure if you need to change the bevels on it. But would get it detuned if you want to hit boxes. Would assume your edges are already beveled at 2 degrees or more already. If you have never detuned a board take it to a good shop and have them do it. Could just be with a new board your edges are just very sharp compared to your old board.

The season is almost upon us!!!!

After three days on ice you should still have sharp edges anyways. Still waiting in capita to get back to me on their edge bevels. Hence why I did not state as fact on the bevels. But Personally would never change a bevel on my boards.

Still waiting to hear back from Capita to find out for definite. Since no shop around me sells them that I know of I am still waiting on a reply.

Edit:
If you have solid info on Capita edges I would appreciate the info. Most of my searching has been in vain so far.

Think the 0/90 degrees is about right at least for my BDI Just wondering where the info is. I did give them a call but sat on hold to long sent an email also. Will try calling tomorrow as well.
I checked with my file guide. A straight 0 degrees seemed to work but I did not do a major sharpen just cleaned the edges a bit.
