My setup

This is my first season, I use to skateboard for 5 years so I picked up snowboarding pretty quick. I currently ride an old Burton Cruzer 164W. I am 6'1 175 pounds and my boot size is 12. So I am buying a Burton Custom CSI 162W, with Burton Carter EST Large, and Burton Moto size 12. What you guys think of this setup, will it be good for me?? i know I am still a noob for a custom board, but I feel really confident with snowboarding , Thank you

162 might be a little big if your doing park or even all mountain....i would go for a 156-159 for your weight and height

the thing is right now I am on 164W and it feels about right, but I am a noob so you might be right? But based on all the sizing charts, and talking with boardshops they are telling me that the best to get is 160 and above. Plus I love the speed

longer boards are good for cruising and more stable but at times maybe harder to whip around if you get into that style. you will see as you progress what your needs are. stick around a browse lots of good info to be had.

yeah, its kind of hard to carve when I am going down on a very steep hill. But I still think 162 will be fine for all around ride
