Wondering if anyone has tried the Concept UL? I've found a great deal on one online and am wondering if it is worthwhile trying....
I've been boarding for about 15 years. I'm 41, 5'8", 225lbs. I'm in Colorado. I don't do the park (or barely ever). Mostly do Powder, crud, moguls and groomers when I get tired or nothing else is good. Freeride. I've been using Ride Timeless boards for the last 8 years. I am currently on a Ride Timeless TMS 159cm from 2006-2007. I was thinking that a slightly longer board might be better in the powder and when going fast on the groomers. Not sure about moguls. The only size that is available for the Concept UL is 161. I guess I'm wondering how the UL compares to my old Timeless (Stiffer or less stiff)? Easier to turn or harder? I want to make sure it is stiff enough for me, as I'm used to the Timeless, but don't want it to be too much board since it would be a 161. I did have a 161 timeless prior to my 159. It was a good board also. A little harder for me to manuever in the moguls if I remember, but then again, I wasn't snowboarding as much a few years ago, so I might have just gotten better. Any suggestions? I can't demo the board, but if there is a chance it will work for me, I'd go for it. |

Should be a great upgrade. It should be a little stiffer and a tad more responsive, as well as faster. You should doublecheck the specs, but I think it has a slightly narrower waist (given the same lengths). It's definitely going to be lighter, though. I've owned both.
