Is this suitable for me?

Hey guys, I've been snowboarding for about two years, and I've rented about 6 or 7 times, so i figured it's about time to buy a board, especially since they're all on sale.

I'm 160, usually ride a 155 cm board, and do freeride (usually mtn high or big bear)

For the board, I'm considering

Morrow Clutch 2009
Morrow Truth 2009
Nitro Pantera 2007 (a little pricier for me)
Capita Scaremaster 2009 (im not sure if this is for freeride.. i dont really do freestyle)
Forum Recon

For boots

Ride Deuce 2007
Deluxe Soccer Boots 2007

And for bindings

Salomon SPX pro bindings 2008
Ride Beta Movement bindings 2008

Sorry for the long post, but I'd really appreciate some help choosing and starting out. I don't want to spend too much, but again, I want something that can perform well for at least a couple years. thanks!!

for the board go with the nitro or the scaremaster it is both a freeride and freestyle

for boots go with the ride i find that they are more comfortable

for bindings go with the salomons they have the best technology for you

you will want to stay away from companies like morrow and 5150, they make really cheap boards and are shitty quality. If your on a budget i would look into an O-matic boron, its only $150 on evogear.com. Great board, I just got mine and its great for freeriding. lots of tech for such a small amount of money. For boots you should try to get fitted at a shop, dont cheap out on them. Boots are very important and you want to make sure they are comfortable. dont buy online unless you have already tried them on.

and what bindings would you recommend?

the pantera with 09 ride spi bindings

although keep in mind that this is a stiff setup on the advanced end of the scale

i currently have an old recon, and absolutely love it, i can bomb the whole mountain and still be able to hit the park. keep in mind this is meant to be beginner to intermediate board, hence why my new 09 ride kink is in the mail as we speak. anyways, yea i'd still deffinately recommend the recon for all mountain versaitilty with a forgiving ride for a good first board.

then again i have no experience with the omatic or the nitro, so perhaps im biased

but yea avoid morrow products
the extra cash for a better board is way worth it, specially since with all these deals you can get a board 5000 times better for nearly as cheap haha.

good luck mate
