need help with size on a new board

5'9" 175 pounds, 3rd season, buying a ns evo , mostly all mountain riding, not sure to get a 154 or a 157 ??? thanx fellas!:tempted:

I'm 6'1 and 176 and most of my all mountain boards are 159, depends on the conditions you ride in. The longer board will be more stable at speed and better in powder, the shorter slightly more maneuverable.

Eventually you'll wish you had the 157 if you buy the smaller board. Unless your strictly a park rat.

that was my gut feeling, i just got off the phone to make the switch to a 157, its on the way thanx!

the 154 at that weight just won't hold up on the mountain, I tried it, was terrible.

imo the evo really is not an all mountain deck unless you are tiny.

just curious , were you on the old evo or the hd evo?

snowklinger 09-04-2014 11:11 AM

you mean 4.0? it was the one before that, 2012 I believe, all black.

the 4.0 is still park board unless you are pinner.

Yes 4.0 lol

I'm about 180 and have a 158 Revolver (wide version of the evo). Unless your definition of all mt riding is playing around on mellow groomers then I'd look elsewhere. To me the evo is a park board that isn't terrible for cruising around the rest of the mt, but by no means is it an all mt ride.
