Aloha everyone,
I'm looking into buying a new board this season. I currently ride a '03 burton custom 154. Currently deciding on a custom x 152 or 156. I'm 5'4" 145 lbs. Generally ride on groomed runs and bowls. Some jumps in the park but no rails 1/2 pipes etc... Been boarding for 8 years now. The 154 works well for me but it's a bit wasted from all these years and the X is not available in that size. So what do you guys think? Up a size or Down? Anyone think the 156 will be too big for me?? I ain't no shredder or anything. I'm from Hawaii and I only make 2 trips a season. Usually one in Whistler and one in the States. I'll be going to vail in January and Whistler in March so I gotta get a new board by then. Suggestions?? Mahalo. |

hhmmm tuff to make a clear cut decision really.
the optimal board length is less of an issue if you ride packed piste all day long.... of course a slightly longer plank would be good if you do decide to venture off on to softer stuff..... but then for someone of your weight, a 152 shouldn;t be too troublesome for you no matter what you fancy. if i had to choose one for you, i would say go longer, coz it will be nicer on the soft stuff (remember the law... never go to the park until every last piece of fresh is carved up!) but we are talking 2 cm more or less on what you are used to and to be honest i seldom notice a change in performance when switching from my 166 to my 162, so toss a coin and takes yer chances! Aloha!
