Is the Burton Clash detuned from the factory?

I consider myself an intermediate rider… ive gone on about 2 trips (of 2-4 days) a season for the past 3 years and can carve pretty decently. Up until very recently, ive always used the budget rental equipment. Due to sierrasnowboards massive sale last month, I took the plunge and got all new equipment for myself after lots of research

- burton clash 155 2009 - $150
- burton mission 2009 - $70
- burton ruler 2009 - $70

When I hit the slopes with my new gear I felt like I instantly advanced 5 years in riding ability. I used to catch edge 2 or 3 times each run and now I was hitting 2 to 3 runs without catching edge at all. This gave me supreme confidence and I was able to smoothly transition heel to toe, regular to switch and everything in between with no fuss and at a much higher speed than I was used to. Is the clash THAT GOOD of a learner board, is it detuned from the factory, or is having all new equipment just being a placebo for my natural ability?

its not detuned i think, but it does have burtons cruse control tech.its where the base near the contact points its bubbled out a little to raise the contact points making it easier to ride.and it is a beginers learning board, so it is doing its job.good deal on the learning curve tho, took me a while to progres but i guess it dosnt matter now.
