09 Forum Manual - Really

Hi all,

Just completed my first snowboarding season, and I am hooked like a crack addict!

I bought a used board from a friend of mine (libtech dark series - 155) that's decent for mountain riding. It's an old board but still sufficient enough to use for another year.

I'm now looking into getting a pure park board. After reading countless threads from this site, I finally decided on getting the 09 forum manual 153 (reason being, it is cheap, and got decent reviews). So now I'm on sierra snowboard's website, and just before i'm about to buy it, i notice that it's fully stocked. However, the other boards i was considering (Ride Kink, Rome artifact) were either out of stock or limited in sizes.

So now i'm wondering whether the forum manual is really a decent board to get, since it seems as though nobody's rushing to buy it. I'm just wondering how it would really compare to a kink or artifact and if it's worth buying??

A little more information that might help:

1. Mainly looking for something that's soft enough to butter and press down the slopes
2. Land small to medium sized jumps in a terrain park
3. Eventually have enough courage to try rails.

I'm 6'1, 165 lbs, size 11, and am looking for a 153.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Ride Kink, Ride DH... those boards I was considering before I bought the Stepchild. Solid shit. I like them a lot. Also like the K2 WWW (little soft), and Lib SkateBanana and Box scratcher...

Edit: I have an old Forum, and I used to love the Forum brand, but with everyone leaving the team and basically saying how the company under new management does things their way and doesn't listen to the riders, I won't be buying any Forum boards anytime soon. Sucks. They were like... a dynasty back in the day. I see the Stepchild team as being what Forum used to be, so I try to support that.

Edit #2: I think your sizes are spot on, I'm 6'2" 175 and ride a 153. Rocker boards are fun, if you want to read more about that. Really nice to press and jib. But that limits you on what you can choose, cause not every board has a rockered option.

I just can't seem to shake the shackles of the City boy Blues

Thanks for the response Lindz, that's pretty intersting to hear about Forum, I will still consider it, but makes me not want to buy it anymore. How flexible is the stepchild? I agree, a rocker would be nice, but i dunno about paying all that loot for it. I was looking for a 1985 artifact, but it's almost impossible to find my size for a good price. The www is nice too, but i'm not looking to spend more than $200 for a board. Perhaps i'll look into the kink or stepchild. thanks again for your 2 cents.
