686 x New Balance

So any news on the new 686 x New Balance gear coming out next year? I saw on BA's blog he wasn't real impressed with their boots, but then, he also said they were pre-production models. I read an interview on Transworld where Mike West and some guy from NB were talking about getting the boots onto their rider's feet but haven't been able to find much.

I don't think they look all the great, but fuck it. If they make a snowboard boot as good as the NB shoes I run in I'll be stoked.

The outerwear and the sneakers seem great though. Knowing 686 I doubt the jackets will be anything less than top notch.

From what I have been able to gather, 686 is responsible for everything except the technical aspects of the boots. Which 686 seems to be more than happy with.

I'll put up some photos of it on my foot, the liner, and everything soon enough. Let's just put it this way they told me they were stiff. I'd say at best they're below a mid flex. They said the heel hold was amazing, it's a liner that's free floating and doesn't lock you into the shell. My .02 cents and this is from years of fitting boots is they're about 3 years behind where they need to be.
