Is there a difference in gear of the same name diff year?

I'm looking at buying some boots that are 2007 but can't find any specs or reviews anywhere.. just wondering if gear differs that much when they re-release it or if it's mainly just diff colours

boot specs are easy to figure out. Put them on. wear them for a 1/2 hour. strap into your board. wiggle around for 10 minutes. If they feel good and match what you expect then the specs are right for you
