Question what equipment should I have

I'm new to the sport. i recently bought a board (roxy envi magne-traction and bindings (marrow wildflower)i want to know if the equipment is ok or if i should look for something else. other than boots is there any other equipment i should look into to make things easier?

Decent equipment if you're just starting out. How many days have you been up? And what style of riding do you enjoy?

Waterproof and breathable (8-10k/10k minimum IMO)jacket and pants.
If you're in colder climates, a baselayer for top and bottom. A balaclava or some sort of face mask.
I like Burton socks.
Wrist guards.
Helmet and goggles.
Gloves or mittens...I prefer gore-tex gloves.
A Dakine or Burton ratcheting tool in case your bindings loosen up.

as a teenager i had a cheap snowboard from wal mart living in the country, I messed around a little bit but i've never actually been to ski resort with "groomed" hills. since i just got a decent board, i havn't gotten a chance to take it out yet. i'm going to Alaska soon and wanted to get the basics together so i would have a good time and not be bother with "oh i wish i had this". Right now the only style i'm doing is free ride. Do you really think a helmet and wrist guards are essential?

Yes to a helmet. You won't die from a broken wrist, but if you haven't learned how to fall properly you could end your season abruptly from just a tiny fall.

wipes are a part of snowboarding, even a small bump on the head could seriously injure you or even kill you...
