I'm wondering about there TBT. Does it make the board any fast? How is the edge hold on it? Does it actually help with landings? Would a board with an extruded base WITH TBT make it fast than a board with an extruded base without TBT?
Everything on their website is true. TBT makes their boards FASTER than you can imagine. Edge hold is really great. Really helps with landings because it's IMPOSSIBLE to catch an edge, unless you land upside down. And i'm pretty sure you can hands down win a race with a Bataleon in that last question.
Think of it this way if you elevate the edge you're reducing drag from the contact points, that will give you a bit more speed. Are you going to notice it? Probably not. Extruded is as extruded does. Doesn't mater who does it, it's extruded. As far as landing are you magically going to become a super rider on a Bataleon? Probably not, but Land it slightly on edge and see what happens.
Yep, my friend let my try out his 08 Riot and it was A-MAZ-ING. But soon enough i had to give it back, because he couldn't handle my crappy stiff piece of wood.
Ok thanks, Probably getting the ET or the Airobic next year. I'm 85 pounds, 4'11", size 7 boot right now so what board do you think would be better for 65% jumps, 15% rails, 20% freeride?
I have a 09 Riot and it is SWEET! Even though its a stiff board is butters really well, is super fast, and is very stable for jumps. I was used to riding a late 90's Nitro Nova so it took me a couple runs to get a handle on how fast this thing is.
So do you think I should get the 2010 147 Airobic or the 2010 or 2009 147 Evil Twin? I would probably get the riot but the smallest size it comes in is 151 which is to big because I'm 85 pounds. 65% jumps/kickers, 15% rails/boxes, 20% all-mountain/freeride
I'm almost twice your weight and I'm thinking the Evil Twin may be on the stiff side. (I'm more into freeride, but I want something easier to butter than what I have now.) I'd go for the Airobic based on your weight. That's assuming stiffness will be same next year as this year.
