I got my Rome Design when I came to the PNW so that I would have a powder board. It hasn't disappointed.

not to thread jack. but how did you like the smartbase on that? I was curious cuz i haven't seen anyone with one and was looking into one.

My guess is that smartbase is on newer Romes? Mine is an 06.

yeah. it's on the 08/09. seems odd cuz they say it doesn't need wax. that it self-adjusts to the snow conditions or something. I don't get it. lol.

It's probably just their name for an extruded base. A lot of snowboard companies try to make their extruded bases sound like they're something special.

i know it's not an extruded base. this is their top of the line freeride board. it would not be extruded. it's supposedly sinister with a twist. I just was curious as to how a board could ride without wax.
