08 390s vs. 09 Sweaters
 

I currently own the 08 390, and have generally been pleased, but as I'm progressing I'm finding that I want something a touch more responsive (though not a full on free ride binding), particularly on steeps. I'm not into park, but I do like hitting small kickers, and want to keep progressing with jumps. I'm also not thrilled with the 390 toe strap (no matter how I adjust it, it tends to dig into the side of my boot on the ratchet side), which is why I'm not really looking at the Targa. I like what I've heard about the Sweaters, but would it be more responsive that last year's 390?

The highback will have more response than the 390's because of the way it's designed. Stiffer on the out side of it towards your pinky toe, but softer on the inside. The heel strap is also going to be a bit more rigid. If you do go with the sweaters just check the screws on the high back there was a batch of those that were super problematic.
