Default Never summer proto HD size?

After long consideration I am going to buy Neversummer proto HD for my next board. When looking size chart:
Never Summer Snowboard Size Chart | evo

It would recommend 157 (my weight is on higher limit) or 160 (my weight is on mid limit) for me as my specs are:
- 178cm (5'10" I guess :-)
- 79kg (174lbs)
- foot size 43 (us 9.5)

Somehow I feel that 160cm is too long, but what do you think?

I am mostly doing groomers and some small tricks and off-piste.

157's fine.

The Proto has blunted ends, which give it more effective edge than a comparable board, so in reality you could be getting an effective edge of a 160 board anyway.

And besides, for anything freestyle, go to the shorter end. If 95% percent of your riding is bombing mach 5 down slopes or high speed, high edge angle carving, you'd want to be looking at another board anyway.

EDIT: Forgot to add, I'm 150 lbs and ride a 153 cm NS SL. I can go comfortably about the 40 mph range and still do butters. I wouldn't have a problem going 151 cm if I had to do it over again. Not as stable at speed as my 156 NS Raptor, but again... different board altogether

You're closer to being between a 154 and a 157 than you are between a 157 and 160 IMO. 157 would be just fine for you for all around riding.
