Big difference is the 09 models have the ICS binding system. Channelled slot as opposed to the 3D holes.
You will find mixed opinions of them to say the least, apart from that the board is basically the same as far as I know. I have an 09 Custom and love the adjustability of the channelled system, she's only seen a couple of weeks worth of riding tho so durability is yet to be proven, a lot of people complain about movement in the bindings after a bit of use. I am the kind of person that gets really specific about even the most minor tweaks and adjustments and for that reason ICS is perfect for me. Last edited by Reede; 04-20-2009 at 09:24 PM. |

As far as I know its only the bindings, the channel would definitely have to affect the flex of the board as well so I would imagine it does affect how it performs in some way. Base, dimensions, angles and other aspects of the board are effectively the same.
Custom X is more a free ride board I believe, Standard Custom is more all purpose without leaning too much either way, but should be a better park board than the X. Last edited by Reede; 04-20-2009 at 09:42 PM. |
