Because it loses integrity over time. A lens does not get worse with every exposure. Boards wear down with use. Especially park boards. They get chips and dings and dents. Boots pack out and won't fit other people so they hold no value. Bindings hold their value fairly well, but those are price point bindings and you'd be hard pressed to sell them.
