How to get skate banana??

Hey all.

So I feel like I got my moneys worth on my 1st "learner" board (A K2 Fuse) and after much research, have decided to spoil myself, if possible, with a new Lib Tech skate banana for next season.

I am still fairly new to snowboarding. I didn't even know they released new models/ updated models of snowboards each year, until recently.

So I have been searching for bananas, and had little luck.

So my question is....To get a 2010 skate banana, do I just have to be the first in line at the board shop when they come in? Or will they let you reserve them?
When do the years newer models generaly get released to the public?

Sorry if any of this sounds dumb. I tried to find this info on my own, but little luck.

Thanks.

you dont need to worry at all about not be able to get a banana, once they come out like the post above says which is usaully in oct, nov., they will be easy to find on most snowboarding websites and stores but they will just be at full retail price. Usually if you want to buy them on sale you will have to wait for the season to end and look on websites.

The 2010 banana graphics look really good. I wasn't a big fan of the 09 zebra stripe. Either way I have my eyes set on a Never Summer Circuit as soon as my local shop gets one. Thanks BA for the recommendation on that one.

no wayy...my last day of the season a guy was riding a green and yellow banana and the topsheet looked sick, the "skate banana" on the base was a bit weird looking with its like small italic font...

The problem is so do thieves. You can see a banana board 3 miles away if its on a rack. I met one kid that got his stolen, and apparently that resort had had several other Skate Banana's taken this season. If there was a list of most commonly stolen snowboards like there are for cars, a Skate Banana would easily be #1.

Sometimes its nice to be conspicuous.

If you do get one lock that crap up tight with a good bike chain lock..or pay for ski check if your mountain has it.

well obviously burton has the most boards stolen, they sell the most boards, most people you dont know anything about snowboarding buy burton boards. And im pretty sure if i was gonna steal a board and it was between a burton board and a banana i would definitely take the banana, unless it was a burton vapor or something cause then i would just sell it.
