Flow bindings, need experiences:
I've put a couple of hard years on my K2 cinches and they're starting to wear a bit. I'm debating acquiring a new set of flow bindings. After reading the forums, I've got my eyes on three: NXT-AT NXT-FRX Flow Team Anyone have any experience with any of these three bindings? How stiff are they? How are they for groomers, fast carving, glades, and hitting kickers? (I don't hit the park at all, but I like my air). I know what the Flow website says about each, but I'm looking for individual experiences, particularly with folks who have tried more than one of the above types. I can get the NXT-AT's right now at a decent enough price, but for the FRX's and Team's, it's a hit and miss - I have to wait until I can snipe a good deal (which may never happen at all). I know the Team's are as light as a feather, but are they lighter enough than the NXT's that I'd notice a difference? How much better/worse are the FRX's for free-riding? Are the team's a good binding for free-riding or are they general purpose bindings that do everything adequately but nothing well? Thanks. |

I've ridden them all.
The team is a high end binding with a magnesium baseplate. Anyone know what happens to magnesium when you stress it a lot? Yeah it's not good k2 went through that years ago. It also has a unique fit to it that matches up best with a Flow boot. Very narrow in the heel, wider in the forefoot. The NXT FRX are great if you're just a hard charging guy but 98% of the people on this forum don't need anything past the NXT AT. It's more than enough binding especially in NY.
