Nice, thanks.

Good catalogue, but they should have had someone proofread it. They should drop the weird obsession with balaclavas too -- it's a bit creepy, even for those crazy Scandanavians.

Nice boards, of course, and TBT is great tech. I just picked up a 2008/9 Riot. :)

Does anybody feel that TBT has pros or cons to all the rockers coming out next season? Everyone seems to be on the rocker tech now. I think TBT is different since its shape is kind of like a double ended spoon (page 12-13 of the 2010 online catalog) whereas the rocker/camber combo seems flat across the width of the board regardless of the angle when in rocker or camber.

pros-
just like riding a normal cambered board
added security of not catching an edge as often
can land a spin off-angle off a big kicker and be able to recover
makes riding fun and playful
ride flatbased and be stable
ego

cons-
maybe more wear on the wax
needs custom stone grinding
ego

edit:
after i got my evil twin i tried my friend's skate banana, hated it. i feel TBT just makes everything more smooth and flowing (edge to edge is just silk, i could almost say it makes groomed trails flow like powder)

I like the ET for its specs but the graphics turn me off. I wish the Airobic was at least sintruded. The horse photography on the Violenza has got to go! Seriously, what the hell were they thinking? All they did was take a photo of a horse in black and white and slapped a logo on it.
Bataleon's are pretty expensive so shouldn't all their boards at least be sintruded? They need to stop making extruded base boards b/c they don't take hits very well and they're s l o w

When Bataleon refers to one of their boards as 'Freestyle' they are referring to the type of TBT base it has. Twin, Freestyle, and freeride TBT respectively. IMO the freeride boards are setback a bit much for all round freestyle all mountain riding. Its all explained on the website.

Yep the inserts are setback to match the sidecut. I would go with the Goliath. or Funkink. For an all mountain stik. When and if you decide you would like to try park/pipe riding you will be good to go. All specs are listed for setbak. Twins are centered, directional twins are slightly setback, directional boards are setback even more with Pintail.. (taper) wider softer nose, and stiffer tapered tail.

The thing is I've been riding for 10 years and the park isn't my thing at all. I like glades, the further into the heart of the woods the better. But I will do a run here and there when all of the kiddies aren't out there and hit a couple 15 footers. I'm anxious to demo theses boards next year.

I rode one this year believe it was the goliath. the graphics were pretty lame with nothing but squares and triangles. it rode ok, kind of soft and easy to turn, but it wasn't any better in any one thing than any other board i've ridden. i honestly don't get it when they say it does everything better than a flat based board. that's just straight up bullshit.

That last pic is the coolest thing I've seen all spring.

And if that unknown board is the 2010 Riot... omg..

EDIT: I had to come back and say that that last pic in the catalogue is... wow it's inspirational. I dunno what to say. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It's my new anti-drug. It could make chuck norris cry.

I don't get how they would choose to make their boards so bland this year. I have huge respect for Bataleon as i feel their attitude towards the sport is for all the right reasons. Think thank films capture such a raw and creative side to snowboarding, which embodies so much of what smaller manufacturers represent. Keeping it reel.

I think Bataleon consider themselves to be a pretty unique bunch, so maybe they hopped on the 'trendy graphics' bandwagon last year, only to hop off it again once news of their TBT technology was properly recognized.
