WAX Question - Snowboarding Forum

I'm waxing my board right now, it's on it's soak.

My question is: My iron seems to be sticking in some place and not gliding like it should.

Is this a lack of heat or wax?

yep, bump it up a couple clicks of the temp. dial and it'll melt the wax nicely

just got my first board and don't know to much about waxing it, (watched the videos and all) but how often do you need to wax it and do you have to get an iron for it or is there other ways? (bit short on cash

)

When using an iron like that can you just put the iron itself (metal base) against the base of the board? and where abouts can I get some wax? not really any ski shops on the mid north coast of Australia lol

Never put the hot iron onto the base of your board without any wax on the board. You can get some wax off ebay for pretty cheap or some online stores in oz. Shouldn't be more than about $20 posted for a block of wax that will do your board roughly 10-20 times. Don't go for the ultra mega fast graphite stuff, any all temp should do in aussie conditions. I actually went halves with a mate on an iron, scraper and wax. Cost us about $95 all up. Where you going to board? Plannig on a trip to VIC or NSW?
