I love my Smith Holt helmet, comfortable, matte black, solid. Reasonably priced as well.

I have been looking into the capix helmet. it's actually a wake helmet, but pat milbery wears it and it looks a lot like a baseball cap. Anybody here wear these?

I have a RED Hi-Fi which also comes in Matte black(the CMKY design one is glossy i think)

Works great, and i like the Audex Headphone addons i got they work great and are comfy.

One thing though, i would see if you can try helmets on at a local shop..places like Sports Authority usually have that type of stuff out year 'round.

I found that the Trace just didnt feel right on my head, neither did any of the smith helmets, they all had wierd quirks, wether it was where the helmet contacted the top and sides of my head that bothered me, the straps, or the ear pads i tried on a good 7-8 different models from RED and Smith and a few others and eventually ended up with the Hi-Fi.

The Capix baseball style helmets seem like a bad idea to me..... Imagine if you fall facefirst going down a slope, that'll catch, and pull your head straight into your chest

You don't have to wear a hat or a beanie under your helmet. Might get too hot, the helmet should be warm enough!
I wear a bern helmet, It's nice, not only has it saved my melon a few times, but it also has built in speakers that I looove.
Just make sure you try on the helmet before you buy it. It shouldn't be able to wiggle around, make sure it's nice and snug on your head.

A good helmet = a helmet that fits your head correctly!

Any helmet that doesn't fit your head is a bad helmet for you.

life IS good.
