Older Boards - Snowboarding Forum

Is there any resale value to older boards and bindings? I have a 10yr old burton custom 164 in really good shape just collecting dust.

I hate just keeping it around. Is there any type of market for older gear?

Of course! Craigslist is good for me...and rare stuff goes on Ebay.

I also believe in "handing down" old boards to get newbies boarding!!! I gave my first board away to a guy who it's now his first board...kinda cool!

old board still ride, I couldnt believe when i saw a guy on the hill riding a burton Craig Kelly mystery air!!!

I was in awe, I told him what he had and he didnt believe me. He thought it was just some old ratty board. bit of a gaper, carhart overalls, carhart jacket and some safety goggles..

its not worth much. its not a classic so collectors won't bother, new gear is crazy cheap right now. you might get someone who is totally out of the loop to overpay for it via craigslist.

I don't really care about overpayment, I just hate stuff lying around collecting dust.

Maybe I will give my old board, boots and bindings to a newb.

I love keeping my boards. I think they make good garage decorations. You can make shelves or benches out of them if they are not worth anything. If you have a classic board, put it up on the wall.

My new Arbor Element is like that, it's too pretty to use. My wife wants me to buy another just for the wall

I've seen Munky's collection, he has a shit load of them. If he reads this wonder what his plan is to do with all of them? Maybe go an artist route and plaster them all over a van for traveling to the resorts.
