hi i now own the anon realm red solex but which i havent picked up yet from a PO box, do any of you own this goggle with the same lens? i heard these lens are not so good for night, just wondering is the red ice lens the best for night? the red ice lens is the one in the watercolor realm goggles.

another question is my gf has high cheek bones small nose and a bigger face than the average girl, what goggles are good for people with small nose and high cheek bones? ive read about the a frames and crowbar from oakley, they didnt reall work, but we've never tried the ones with the J-fit which supposedly have more cushion on the nose, anyone have those?

thanks!

btw for my goggles i just want them for NIGHT thats why i was wondering if i should buy the red ice lens!
new to the forum btw :D

i have the same goggles with the same lenses. I rock them during the summer and normal winter days, but when it comes to night, i have a 2nd pair with clear lenses.

See if they have a clear (preferable) or yellow lens. These would be best for night riding. A lot of people like Persimmon as well, but I find them too dark for the night.

In terms of sizing of the goggles for your GF, EG1 and VZ Phenoms (what I rock) are, IMO, the best goggles for large faces. However, like boots, it's always best to try them on because everyone's faces are different and fit and comfort will vary widely.

Arent the "Asian" face fitting Oakley goggles more or less for short nose/high cheek bone? Maybe give those a try on her...

I also use Yellow(Oakley Hi-Yellow) for Night riding..and i can use it most days out here in Oregon because its so overcast and dark during the season...i like all the light i can get...but i do have Persimmons i always bring in my bag if the sun sneaks out.

Has anyone had experience with the blue iridium oakley lenses? thinking of getting a pair as they come with the jet black frame and are really designed for sunny days, just wondering how they hold up in cloudy/foggy days as i don't want to get a second lens straight away... using that 50% code from backcountryoutlet, but they only have a vr50 emerald replacement lens in stock, unless that is suitable for the cloudy/overcast days. The lens pdf file says they are designed for low light, but the website says they are designed for bright-med light :(

Was really after a black/dark grey frame and the only options available were the blue iridium or the HI persim. Was keen to purchase a HI yellow later down the track when a good deal comes up and sticking with just the blue iridium in the meantime even for cloudy days, but the cheapest I can find is $60 right now... which is the cost of a complete A-frame goggle from backcountryoutlet with the 50% discount.

Almost thinking of buying the jet black/blue iridium with a second goggle with HI yellow, then buying a cheap lens and sell the second frame with the cheap lens... what do you think?

thanks guys, but i just wanted the red ice lens cuz some guy at sporting life told me those lens were good since he used them for night, i just never wanted clear lens cuz i find it looks wierd but maybe ill sport those this coming season, for my gf she did try the a frame already but the nose part is still a bit off, can fit a finger and a half in there, hopefully she can eventually try the Oakley a frames with the j fit which i heard has more padding on the nose

yeah those guys at sporting life are really known for their snowboard knowledge. i mean any place that sells fishing rods and tennis raquets must be on the pulse of snowboarding, right? who cares what your fucking lens looks like, its night, use a clear lens and don't worry about how it looks. or get a mirrored lens so you look cool coming doen the hill on stretcher because you ran into a tree because you couldn't see anything. it says right there on the list clear for NIGHT RIDING. light isn't variable or flat at night, its absent.

Im with Incog..

Clear or a Yellow are what you need to use for night riding.

Oakley actually lists their Hi-Yellow as allowing more light in than their clear...go figure..i just use them for the higher contrast against the dimly lit snow at night.

OK final decision then i jsut wanted to know for any anon users, CLEAR or YELLOW? i just thought maybe yellow would help with the lights at night =/ if not ill just buy clear

or does anon have any lens like this one

if not just please let me know about the clear vs yellow question since i heard yellow will help causing more intensity to the lights or something
