Decided on this years Burton Custom Wide.. need to figure out what size is right for me and need your help.
I am: 200lbs 6'2 size 14 boot All-mountain rider, more so freeride right now but looking to get into freestyle a bit as well. Would a 165 be too big for me? or is that the right size given my big feet/height/weight? THANKS! |

Hmm thanks.. I was originally leaning towards 162 because of the fact I like to go into glades (however not expert at this yet), and thought the few inches could help me with maneuvering. However, I do not want to loose anything that the extra inches would give me for speed as well... Do you think I'd loose anything in regards to speed/control with the 162?

Where do you ride? Weight wise you could go with either but if you're on the east coast you'd probably want to stick with the 162. If you're out west where you get more real pow days you might want to go with the 165. The difference in speed will be minimal, it has more to do with the float of the nose. When you say this years board I'm guessing you mean 09/10, are you getting the rockered version? If you're going rocker the extra 3cm on the 165 isn't that big of a difference as the nose will float well anyway and then you get the benefit of being able to ride the shorter board for park maneuverability

No problem and you might want to look in to the rocker. You'll lose a little bit of pop from the V-Rocker they have on the Custom this year but if you're looking to butter and press rocker is the way to go. Either way the custom is a super solid ride. I'm generally anti-burton in my product selection but you can make a safer choice on a well performing board than the Custom.

For that board I would choose the 162. You might wanna look at some other boards as well. I would suggest the Capita Black Death Inc 159W.
