So I am short on cash but need a new all mountain, quiver of one board.
Previously been on various boards inc. bataleon ET, Burton blunt, NS SL, NS proto.

Intermediate, sometimes spend a whole day lapping park, sometimes spend it bombing piste and jumping side-hits, sometimes pow.
Anyway, you get the point...
75kg. 9.5 US

So the site listed is having a sale but due to knowing the right people ;) I can get a further 20-30% discount. So need to stay on that site really.

If anyone wants to be an absoluttte legend and say which board they would get from the list for an all mountain then i'd be sooo grateful. :hairy:
Obviously each to their own, but i'm looking for inspiration.

Currently thinking proto hd but bit of a predictable choice and wouldn't mind something with a bit more liveliness.

Here are my choices given the vague description you gave me. I've also only spoken about brands I've ridden so someone else will have to speak up about GNU, LibTech, Smokin, etc..

ProtoHD 154 or 157
https://www.surfdome.com/never_summer_snowboards_-_never_summer_proto_hd_snowboard-196162

I owned the pervious version of this board a couple years ago in a 154. Great board and since you'll be in the park it'll come in handy. Not the best powder board but in a 157 you'd be more all-mountain and the 154 more park.

Custom 154 or 158

Great all around board for pretty much everything. Channel lock-in kind of sucks binding choice wise but no big deal. 154 for more park and 158 for more freeride.

Flight Attendant 156

Not a park board so that probably removes the board from your list. However, the freeride and powder aspect of this board will make it great to ride. The downside is the binding choice with the channel but it isn't like burton bindings suck.

Thanks man. What made you move away from the proto? I've ridden the proto CT a lot and liked it but it does have a sort of "tame" feel. E.g. not particularly poppy and not a lot of character... just a good all rounder.

I like the idea of trying out the burton channel with some EST bindings, my buddy feels he gets way better board feel with it and loves the combo.
Is the custom X the stiffer custom and would you guys recommend the custom over the custom flying v?

Think i'm ready to move away from RCR/rocker so custom may be good.

between the Smokin asymmetrical TTX and the Salomon Assassin. Probably the Salomon
Been having a read and seems like the assassin has been a great all around performer. I may hang on for the end of season sales... or pick up next years.

1. Burton Trick Pony - all mountain killer (flat to rocker)
1.5 Burton Flight Attendant (camber/s camber)
2. Salomon Assassin - park/ all mountain killer (flat camber)
2.5 Salomon Sick Stick - pow killer (flat to rocker)
3. Lib Tech TRS - all mountain killer(c2)
3.5 Lib Tech Attack Banana - all mountain everything (ec2)
4. Never Summer Proto - all mountain everything (rcr)
What makes you rep the assassin so highly having not ridden it? I'm seeing loads of great reviews around. Very tempted.

Any thoughts on 155 vs 158? I don't normally go as high as 158 but may have to.

Thanks for the help. much obliged.

I've owned every board listed except the trick pony and assassin. If you want a do it all one quiver done that still excels in powder the assassin is imo your winner. The libs and never summer will be fine in the park and will do ok in pow but neither one is a do it all.

Honorable mentions:
Capita BSOD
Rossignol Templar
K2 Turbo Dream

I did a lot of research before getting my proto and it fell between the assassin and the proto. Assassin is dead center between the sick stick (powder)and villain (park). I own two sick sticks and love them a lot. If the 160 had not been only available in a wide I would have gone with the assassin. I'm also not a park guy so I didn't need an all mountain that still did well in the park. The way the camber causes the tips to lift when weight is on it makes the ee slightly shorter allowing you to go a bit bigger.
