Reverse Camber: Cheating?

I will have to say, its a pretty good idea, but its almost cheating. Rode my first reverse camber board yesterday and it felt like i as cheating the sport. While there wasn't any tables to try it out on, but on a rail ,this thing press like a mo-fo. So easy infact it almost took the skill out of it. Any lean that you would do on a normal board you could be flat on your back.

Now, i will have to admit, i am going to get one of these, its freaking awesome, rides good, jibs amazing, but i almost feel like i am cheating the sport a little. Oh well.

I only ride anti-cambered decks now. I have more fun, it's easier on my knees, and generally love the feel.

I to am a fan of the "alternative camber" boards. Everything freestyle is more fun. It's easier if you already know what you are doing though. I don't think a newbie can jump on a rocker and press a rail like you explained. It just makes the slowboarding part soooo fun!

I have yet to ride a non cambered board that feels awesome as a straight up cambered bomber board though. I am talking balls to the wall ragged edge chop pounding speed. If anyone has enlighten me! BA how's the F1-R for this? I will demo one this year for sure!

I kinda felt the same way when snowboard boots were invented, they felt like cheating compared to my old Sorel boots. It kinda looked like people were cheating when they came up with twin tip boards. Hell it even felt like cheating when they invented cambered boards because it made it so easy. Look man, tech advances and we all ride better because of it, it's not cheating, thats just how it is.

It felt like cheating when they introduced aluminum racquets
It felt like cheating when they introduced aerodynamic swim suits
It felt like cheating when they introduced shape skis

Personally I'm down for anything that ups the game for everyone. If RC boards take the work out of tricks then it will make people concentrate more on going bigger than just doing the work.

I just noticed I wasn't having to load the camber as much and at the end of the days my knees just feel better. I can do a 6 hour park day like it's nothing now and pushing it to 8 hours of park I don't get as sore.

Mine was preproduction so it was softer in the nose. Plus I killed mine when I ran into a tree at Steamboat at mach 10 speeds. But my 67 Summit R pretty much destroys chopped out crap and I rode that thing way more than my F1 R.

Some of those swim suits are being banned: BBC SPORT | Other sport... | Swimming | Hi-tech suits banned from January

I'm with you though--innovation is a good thing.

Most of the RC boards i've ridden (which is only a few) limit how aggressive I ride. Too surfy and not enough edge. I wouldnt call it cheating i'd call it getting cheated.

If you search, you'll realize this has already been discussed/debated several times before. In the end, if you/anyone thinks that new and potentially imporved technology is cheating, then...
