Default Rome 390s vs Union Force

ok so im not sure which to get out of these two...Im putting em on a 156 banana, its gonna be mostly for park but ill be doing a little bit of free ride on groomers..but from what ive read so far, these bindings seem very much alike, and im not sure which would suit me better

i personally went out and checked these two bindings. ive never rode on them but when i saw the two i liked the 390 better. its really comfy, the toe strap really conforms to ur boot well, really really customizable, and the ratchets feel really solid. the unions are nice but when i compared the ratchets on the 390 to the unions, hands down the 390s took my vote. the 390s have a lot going on in the heel strap. the 390s didnt have any pressure points at all, where as the unions did. but it probably felt that way because i didnt have time to set up the unions to fit my boot well. but i am sure once dialed in, the unions feel comfy too. you cant go wrong with either. but from wat i saw, i liked the 390s better.

just my 2 cents

I like the unions. This years have upgraded ratchets. Not sure about this years 390's but last years were way to soft.

to be honest, I don't think you could go wrong with either binding. I love my forces though!

About 10 of us in the locker room at work were on unions last year and not one of us had anything other than snapped ratchet straps like you would with any binding. No highback issues whatsoever. There can't be too much of an issue considering we all put in over 140 days each last year.

Historically thats fucking bullshit. I've been on my current Forces for 4 years and have another pair on my jib board. Plus I know about 30 people who've been riding them for more than a few years and of all the things that actually have gone wrong with them I've never heard of a highback cracking. Not to mention having participated in heated forum discussions on several different sites regarding union durability and never hearing of it either. Straps wearing out yes, ratchets getting stuck yes, baseplates cracking yes, but high backs cracking? thats a joke.
