Ok so i freeride maybe with an occasional jump here and there. I don't wear a helmet. I know that i prolly should just to make my mother feel happy . But in actuality does anyone who just freerides?

apparently everyone who rides an intrawest resort (Whistler, Tremblant, Blue Mountain among others) is going to be doing it from now on. I just heard they're making helmets mandatory on all of their runs this year

I wear one, and I mostly freeride (though i do the occasional jump, rails, and boxes). It's just better to wear one just in case, because you never know (those skiers are deadly).

I always wear a helmet.
1. I actually find it more comfortable with my goggles than just wearing my goggles on top of my beanie.
2. Obvious reasons; safety. My mom is an ER trauma nurse, and my brother in law is a Paramedic. Wanna know about how all the crazy ways you could hurt/kill yourself are? Sit down at a family dinner with me. I've ruptured my spleen, broken ribs, almost punctured a lung (rib was poking into my lung but didn't actually pierce), 3rd degree burns, and actually almost had to amputate a foot after a volleyball game (long story)... So yeah. A helmet doesn't bug me, doesn't annoy me, even plays back my music. Why wouldn't I wear it.

I bought a helmet for the first time this season. Rack up a few concussions and a helmet will seem like a good idea. I'd never had a concussion snowboarding, but I've had a total of four concussions between football (2), car wreck (1), and bike wreck (1). The first time you wake up to strangers standing over you asking you if you're okay and then notice that you're bleeding out of you mouth because you've bitten your tongue in half and you can't remember what the hell happened, you'll start wearing a helmet - that was the bike wreck and I WAS wearing a helmet. I might not be typing this if I wasn't.

intrawest is "officially" recommending helmets, and requiring it for skischoolers and such

THERE ARE SPECIFIC REASONS AS TO WHY I AM MORE LOCAL THAN YOU

GOD IS DONUT

I never wore a helmet, but thats gonna change this year. Near the end of the last season I got a huge concussion, I spent 3 days hating everyone but my girlfriend, super depressed and super angry at the world for no reason other than that's what can happen when you smash your head! No fun at all.

yea, i've had a couple concussions. I learned this year that they're easier to get and they're worse every time you get them. Hmmm, makes me think I should wear it outside the park, but whatever

I hit my head once and got a helmet. Actually I like the helmet because it has speakers in the ear piece and its so much better then ear buds!
