Backcountry Bag

Looking to do a lot more Backcountry riding this year. But after almost getting caught in a slide in Kicking Horse last year I was wondering what kind of stuff you keep in your bag. Saw first hand the need for being prepared so I'm thinking,

Avalanche Beacon
Shovel
Proding stick thing
Emergency Blanket

What else should I bring along to increase my chances of not really dying?

'12 Lib Tech T.rice / '12 Burton Cartels
'10 CustomX / '10 Co2 EST
Salomon F22

I just got some backcountry gear so I'll tell you what was recommended to me.

Black Diamond Covert Avalung pack.
Pieps DSP beacon
Black Diamond Deploy 3 shovel
Black Diamond Super Tour 265mm probe.

Thats a lightweight but effective setup.

All of the above are good suggestions.

If you can afford it, also consider:
1. Light saber (to cut your way out of the snow like Luke did on Hoth)
2. Super Mario Bros. star or Pac-man power pellet (for temporary increased speed and invincibility if you get chased down a hill by an avalanche)
3. Border collie named Lassie (to summon help from Timmy if you get covered in snow).
