Really expensive mitts

Just wondering if anyone has an explanation for why these mitts are so damn expensive (outside of the typical Burton is money hungry super company). I work at a shop so either way I wouldn't have to pay this much, just wondering if its really going to be double the warmth/quality anything of another mitt or its just grossly overpriced. Thanks!

As far as I can see it might be because of the leather palms, other that, dunno.

All of their expensive gloves have triple goose down fill so I would bet that has something to do with it

Well, Gore-tex, goose down, etc. add to the cost, but I agree that is ridiculous.
