Bananas are not technically a noodle so you can still rely on the tail for "some" of the pop for the ollie. If you are talking a noodle like the park rocker, then don't expect to preload the tail before launch. It is all in your feet. It feels completely different and took me a week to master the "skatelike" ollie.
However, once you get used to it, I could actually ollie higher because of how high I could lift my font leg before popping my back leg.
