I'm looking for a new board, mainly for park. I think I may have found something used for approx $330 (Sellers asking price...I'll probably be able to haggle this down a bit). I want to look into it first before I purchase it but I'm not sure of the model. He believes its a K2 A-star but when I google it, I get a completely different board.
Anyways, this is my second year of "serious" boarding, so Im not too familiar with boards and such. But the guy told be that he paid $600 CAD for this setup (including boots).
1) how old is that board?
2) those are the lowest end Burton bindings from what I can see in the pics.
3) not sure about shipping, customs, etc. but on brociety $300 would get you a brand new board from last year and say Burton mission bindings.
I wouldnt pay 330 for it..US to CAD is more or less 1:1 now conversion wise...
The name of the board is in the second picture, but the flash or the glare is right over top of it..i can see XXXXXRED59 WIDE i cant quite make out the rest...
It definately doesnt say A-Star...
What is your weight and boot size? It maybe worth it if you can talk him down enough. But for the love of god dont buy his used boots, waste of money as they are already molded to his foot.
ok, it is definitely an A-Star but that board was discontinued by K2 some time ago. there is a chance that board is at least 5 years old. Again, not being in Canada I dont know what is available to you, but I would not spend $300 CAD on that board.
Thanks a lot guys...lol and I wasn't planning on buying the boots. I know that boots are the one thing your not suppose to cheap out on, so I bought brand new ones last year.
Good to know legally..i still think its overpriced...
Admittedly i can only find 1 site on the entire internet selling this board and its a 152 but it looks like its going for 220 bucks brand new. Freestyle bindings are like 65 bucks new for 2009's...
If you can, hit up some demo days....If you cannot, then do some research (forums, reviews etc.). Narrow down your selection and buy something YOU believe is the right board for you and your style. Then thank me later.
