Been riding for 10 years now, and have to ditch my 7 year old Burton Drivers. Since then, I have completely stopped going to the park and ride big mountain exclusively. I'm a complete powder hound and try to stay away from anything groomed and love steep slopes, glades, etc. I keep getting mixed opinions on the stiffness factors of boots; some stay soft for park and stiff for mountain, others say the opposite. What is the verdict on this and does anyone have any suggestions for a boot? I ride an 05-06 Burton Baron with 05-06 Burton cartel bindings. Wear a size 12 and have wide feet. Thanks for any help

From what I understand softer boots are more for freestyle and stiffer boots are for all mountain. A stiffer boot will provide loads of stability so that makes sense. I still have a pair of Drivers myself and used them specifically for backcountry stuff.
