Default Snowboard for Light Rider

Hey Everyone

I want to start snowbording so i am on the market for my first snowboard. I would like something for all mountain since i am not big fan of tricks but would love to curve around. I am light 145 pounds (keep my weight for cycling ) but 6 feet (181 cm). For a board i would like to spend something in middle 200$.

What boots and bindings would you suggest as well?

Or the whole package for around 500$ with boots and bindings.

You don't necessarily have to buy used. There are still some good deals from last years stuff....it has just been picked through pretty well. Here's a decent 152cm that could work:

if this is ur first time snowboarding...most people here will suggest u renting ur gears before committing to buying one urself...

if u still insist on making a purchase...look hard enough and u can still find some last year's board for 180-250 depends. But do know ur options will be really really limited.
for 300ish u can get a good board...again it'll be last years model.

Sierrasnowboard.com is a good place to start looking for last years board.

I know renting would be good but since i will travel from here to europe it's gonna be more economical for me to buy new one then rent stuff on diffrent places. I still have some time so i will learn how to "behave" here so i can start doing something slowly there. Are there any companies that i should look more closly on or one that i should avoid? I wanted freeride board but it would be harder to learn on such so all mountain would be better for me. It's not that i dont want to spend cash on my first board but i would rather buy something cheaper for my first one or two seasons and then buy something better since i heard that most newcomers go roughly with their boards at first.

So any recommendation on 300$ level or around that? Whats the lowest cash lvl i can buy decent gear?

I know 500 would be best to get NS SL-R but i dont wanna ruin such a nice board.

Someone said 52 would fit me l was thinking about 56 am l correct?

well i went the other way personally when i got my first board...
rented for a few times then i shell out some cash for a board that will last me while i progress. Im happy with my decision and glad i didnt spend the cash on some beginner board that id probably wanna upgrade to another board by now.

and i dont see how you can ruin a board that easily even as a beginner...sure u'll get a scratch on ur top sheet here and there...but nth significant imo

for last yrs beginner board like the forum recon, ride agenda, rossignal scope it'll probably cost around 200 if u can still find them. for 300 or more u can probably find some burton custom/custom x, ride antic, rome anthem etc...

I am thinking about getting custom X since it is at 350$ and bindings burton triad but i am not sure if bindings will fit since this board has some different kind of bindings required (it doesnt have normal holes).

But what is my size for board i am 145 and 6 feet high ;/ will 56 fit me?

if the custom x ur looking at is the ics system then u need burton's EST binding to go with it.
