Hey all, newbie here...so forgive the repetitive questions (I've been doing as much research as possible on my own).
Got a great deal on an Academy Rhythm 157cm board, so I snatched it up only later to find out that it may be the wrong board for me. I've read that the Rhythm is a medium-flex board, better suited for freestyle/park riding. I only want to FREERIDE this season. My question: can I offset the softness of my board by getting stiffer bindings? Is this a bad idea in general (soft board/stiff bindings)? I know it's easier to just get a new board that is stiffer, but I'm a baller on a budget. Lastly, I have size 11 boots (suggested board waist size: 251-253mm)...but my Rhythm board is 250mm. Will I face heel/toe clearance issues? I figure a few millimeters shouldn't create any real issues. Main thing here is I don't want to spend the money on a new board unless it is absolutely neccessary. Thanks for any input you guys may have. -Mike Last edited by RiceyHot; 11-01-2009 at 02:51 AM. |

I get my Arsenals in this week, I'm gonna mount them on the Rhythm board and test the setup out this weekend. Toe drag is also an issue since I wear size 11 boots. I'm seriously considering just shelling out the cash for another board that is better suited for me. A wide, stiff board.
