HELP!! Im trying to decide what board to buy for next season...

I'm about to enter my second season in the French Alps (I did 1/2 a season last year), so I would class myself as Intermediate, Im looking for an all mountain board, thats nice in the park too, 2 boards im thinking of at the moment are the Bataleon Violenza... or the Rome Vinyl...

Anyone out there that has used these boards.. or has a board they rate... please let me know your thoughts... Thanks

I can personally vouch for Bataleons technology.... I love my Bataleon Jam, and my girl loves her Fun Kink.

I cannot speak on the Rome though....

Does Never Summer have any distribution in your area? That company makes amazing boards and has a 3 year warranty.

Thanks... The technology of the bataleon is whats edging me towards it... although Ive only ever heard really good things about the rome vinyl, and it seems best suited to me I think... I just check out Never Summer.. the Lotus.. it also looks amazing, with gorgeous graphics. I should just make a choice and roll with it... Im sure all would be awesome! cheers.

SnoBun from here learned on a Rome Vinyl and loved it. She eventually progressed and went out and got an Infinity-R. I don't think she's taken the latter out for a go yet. PM her for info on the Vinyl.

Have you tried shayboarder.com yet? It's a snowboarding blog by a girl who tests a pile of products each year. She's also good at answering individual questions. I'm sure she could be a great help.

The bitchboard brand is marketed well, until you look at their offerings twice. They're more concerned with the graphics on the board than the board itself. No really, I mean that literally.

They claim they were founded to address the lack of choice for women's boards out there, and then they offer only one all-mountain board with different graphics... How one goes about answering the problem of lack of choice (I honestly don't see a lack of choice for women out there) by offering only one choice doesn't make sense to me.

They decided to shake things up this year by moving the binding holes around on one model to make it a twin. Woo!

This doesn't mean they are bad boards... if you're looking for an all-mountain general board. I've got no idea how well the board they offer is actually made and how well it rides. And they DO have good graphics.

But there are plenty of companies out there with quality products that put far more research into building women's specific boards than bitchboards themselves does. And bitchboards doesn't give them credit for this.

"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

Thanks

The Lotus is more of a freeride board. The Infinity-R is more all-mountain.

All the boards you mentioned are good - in the end it really comes down to preference. Can you demo boards where you are?

My girl is riding an 08/09 Salomon Lark and she is in love with it. I can't say the board has made her any better, but she has a ton more confidence now, so I'm guessing the Equalizer cut that Salomon uses isn't just a gimmick. Wish I could help more, but I'm sure some female members will chime in.

lilfoot... thanks... I cant really trial boards, Im going to buy it in London before I head out to the ALps. I think im edgeing towards the Bataleon Violenza... The graphics aren't bright or anything, Just a black and white photo of a horse... but its the board I think is most suited...

Nevertheless I think I'll look into those other boards in store!

Cheers for all ur opinions people!!
