Board Loyalty

I've been snowboarding for 15+ years and, in all honesty, don't pay too much attention to my gear. granted i like to have quality stuff, but usually just buy last years models and end up using it for 4 years or so. right now i'm riding an option freeplus from a couple years ago that i absolutely love. does everything i could ask for in a freeride board. the only thing is i know there are better boards out there, especially with the tech boom of the last couple years. i usually ride anywhere from 25-40 days a year all in the north east, but recently moved to new hampshire and hopefully, will be riding a lot more. i really want to get a new board, specifically a bataleon, but the more i think about a new board the more i feel like i'm abandoning an old friend. she's done me no wrong, but i feel like i am missing out. anybody else have this type of attachment to their board?

When I retire my Options board that I've been using for 4 years now, I will keep it to mount on the wall forever.

believe me...no matter what happens i'm definitely keeping my option.

i spoke with an old option rep the other day and they're struggling. i believe they were bought out by a larger company 3 or so years ago and kind of fell apart. its a real bummer because i would definitely buy another option in a heart beat.

Some boards I love, others are just boards to me. All depends on the trips I took a certain one on and my experience on it.
