Hey guys, first post but I've been reading all kinds of posts here for a while. I live in VA and do all of my snowboarding in WVA which is not ideal but its not absolutely terrible. I weigh 140 and am 6'0 tall, this will be my 5th year riding. Right now I own a morrow radium 155 with burton freestyles.. needless to say shit's weak and is definetely the biggest thing holding me back. I'm ready to upgrade an am going to get a Bataleon after reading everything about them. I have a few questions I wanted to ask you guys first though.
1.) I'm not to big into rails and boxes, I love kickers, bombing, carving, and playing on natural features. With this in mind I've narrowed my options down to the Evil Twin and Riot. The Evil Twin this year comes with a synthduded base, which I understand is better than it's previous models extraduded base but not as good as the Riot's base so do with that in mind which board do you think I would enjoy more? 2.) Do you think I should stick with a 155 or change sizes? 3.) Is there anywhere I can get an 09 Riot or any of the last years models that wouldn't cost so much? The only thing I can find is the new models which all are 450+ |

I don't know how they compare for riding style, but I've only read great reviews for the Evil Twin. It's suppose to be a great all round shred stick. Sounds like what you're looking for. Have you looked into Never Summer SL-R? Those are also great all round boards that also kill in the park. I don't know much about the Riot, but like I said I've heard the Evil Twin is very versatile and rides very well.
Don't worry too much about the base material. If you're not hitting park all the time best not to get extruded, but all the boards mentioned have sintred type bases. So whichever you prefer. 155 sounds about right for your weigh and style of riding. If you want to hit park more maybe take it down to a 152, but if you're a fast rider 154-156 would be most stable. I find them harder to find online, let alone buying last year's models. I think they sold well last season, so you might have to fork out the cash for a 2010 at this point in the year. Generall buy previous year stuff before October or you'll be SOL. I recommend finding a local shop with them. Always check your gear out in person, even if you decide to buy online. But if you gotta pay retail, support your local shop. I'd even pay a tad more to support the local shop. Buying online is generally a bad idea anyway, for a lot of reasons. Good luck, have fun! The two you've narrowed it down to are both great options for the type of riding you described. I think the ET will be more playful maybe, while the Riot will be faster outside of the park, especially if we're talking '09 boards maybe not as much of a difference with '10 boards.

No, I wish. Mountains here haven't opened up yet, and even then I'm not going to bust it out until there's more coverage out there.
