Hello,
I'm headed to Whistler to work this winter season, currently living in Australia. I will have a full day in Vancouver before I head up and I still need to get Board, Binding, Boots and Outwear. Was wondering if there is somewhere I could go that has a large range of brands etc. I checked online and there are tonnes of stores listed. If anyone that has shopped there previously and can let me know wheres good that would be greatly appreciated. |

I've dealt with "Showcase" in Kitsilano (down town Van) and had nothing but really good experiences. The guys at "Pacific Boarder" are good too.
There is a thread on here that reflects quite negatively on "The Board Room" in Van. I'm never supporting them and caution anyone else to do the same out of principle

hey dude
there's a street with a whole bunch of snow shops in a row in Van, can't remember the name of it, but if you google map it i'm sure you'll find it. As for outerwear, i swear by Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) - it's like a Canadian version of Anaconda, but massive and cheap and awesome. Last time I got a shell, fleece, thermals, socks etc from there, but they don't stock snowboard brands i.e Burton, so if you want designer stuff head to the board shops instead. If you're staying at the Samesun in Van (like every australian who goes to whistler) you can jump on a bus and it'll take you most of the way there. We walked it once and it took aaaaaaages Sorry i can't be more specific, it was a few years ago. Locals will be able to help you out better, but def check out MEC - it's awesome

West 4th in Kits (Vancouver) is lined with ski shops. Pacific Boarder, , Westbeach, Showcase, Comor, DC, Boardroom and Boardroom Clearance shop are all side by side. Personally prefer Boardroom and Pacific Boarder for their selection. I just picked up a new board and jacket there tonight.
