Hi guys I'm planning on buying new board. I'm 184 (to my chin I have 164) and I'm 74 kg. So far I have chosen Snowboard Gravity Silent | Snowboard Zezula it's 161cm, peanut camber. twin tip, has woodcore, biax laminate, sidewall 360 abs. Gravity is really popular snowboard brand in Czech republic and Slovakia. I have now Gravity Team 2011-2012 edition and it was 152, but since I'm trying to do a lot of butters and flat tricks it's really easy to get over the tail of board. So I'm looking for something for jibbing/flat tricks. I don't really know if I should go to a smaller one than 161. New binding that I have now is Burton Freestyle 2016.
I always thought people tend to get shorter boards for buttering, since its easier to get flex on smaller boards, and the spin weight is lower... Hopefully someone with more experience can chime in to confirm or counter this though.
I'm about 175 cm and 68 kg. I ride a full camber 159 freeride deck and can butter and spin it just fine. I don't feel like it holds me back at all. That said, I wouldn't have to work as hard for it on a smaller board. Also, don't forget boots. My old-ass broken boots are way easier for jibbing than my new ones. They're both Burton Driver X. The only difference is the model year and about 250 riding days. Your boot selection is at least as important as your board for the overall feel of your ride.
