Donek Incline vs Jones Flagship

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my board for the next season. The two boards that I'm looking that I think will suit my riding style are the donek incline and the jones flagship. I want a stiffer board for carving and for everything else. I do not ride park at all, I'll attempt a few small jumps towards the end of the day, but I'm mostly bombing and trying to lay trenches whenever possible. (i love seeing my trenches on the slope when I'm on the lift ruining the snow for others :D)

My current setup is

Arbor Formula 2011 161
Rome Targa bindings
Ride Insano boots

This was my first board and I've been learning and practicing how to really carve on edge with it. But this season... I've come to the point where I boot out on my toe side when I carve deep on edge.

So I think a wider board is needed for me for me to progress on to the next level.. I'm having a hard time deciding between the Donek Incline and the Jones flagship. Both boards are similar in price, the Jones slightly cheaper... Does anyone have any experience with both of the board that can help me make a decision or can provide an alternative board?

Thanks

You don't mention pow... I'd only go for the Flag if pow is also part of its job. If you're solely looking for a groomer carving machine, go for a trad. camber board, or one with only little rocker in the nose IMO as for carving, more eff. edge is better. The Flag does carve n bomb, but more as a sideeffect. It's main purpose is big mtn riding (it has a rockered nose which will rise right at the last insert; rather big sidecut radius).
Check out boards like Burton Custom X or Volkl Coal. Don't know the Donek.

Have you looked a the RipSaw, in the wide model?

It's a fuckin' machine.

I ride like that & this board loves it.
It can take all I can give it.

Never been as fast & felt so comfortable doing it, as I have on the RipSaw X 160 I've been ridin'.

I don't go in the parks that often, but this thing is fine in there.
Jumps no problem, cliffs, drops, all good.

Haven't t ridden it in powder, but that's definitely not what it's for.

Screaming down shit, that's what it does & it does it wicked.
If you are never gonna go in the park, don't plan on doing 540's & 720's?
I'd size up to the 64 in the wide.

I can pretty much guaran-fuckin'-tee, you're gonna love it.

I didn't mention pow cause its condition dependent. If there's untouched pow then of course I would go there, but from my experience, there isn't much untouched pow at the resorts I go to.. really dependent on weather conditions when I go on the trip.. I am planning on going to whistler next season for several days.. might see some there but I don't have much experience with pure untouched pow.. Maybe I'll get lucky next season? haha

You can't go wrong with a donek. They are very strong builds and that would be a great charger board and can definitely do it all. They are known as a race board company in the sbx world but the incline has more capabilities than just racing.

I own a Donek Incline and love it. I have never been on a Jones. As to TT's comment RE the Ripsaw: as good as the Ripsaw is (I have spent several days on one last season), the Donek is better for pure carving, hands down....

The Ripsaw is still really good, though..

What would you say are any drawbacks of the Incline? Not necessarily bad things, but could be more of it wasn't designed to do this or that particularly well? The website says it rides anything, but that is a quite vague statement.. And where does the board really excel at??

Thanks

I have an incline and if u like ripping on groomers that board does rip and hold an edge. U can get any deminsions u want. u Will boot out on the flag ship , ripsaw and any other board They r not wide enough nor r they a spicifec carving board. Get the DONEK ten times better board then all the others. ???

Trying to compare a ripsaw to a Donek for carving is hilarious, get the Donek dude, nothing rips groomers harder! Had a custom wide model built a few years ago, really fun, but only for groomers pretty much.

Doneks are amazing. I demoed a Sabre SRT and it was godly. I thought magnetraction was good on ice, and I hit some ice on the Saber SRT and didn't even know it was there, zero slide at all. Held an edge like nothing I've ever ridden before. Donek are in another league than other boards, if you ride one you will know.

This is like comparing a home made apple pie to an apple pie you get at McDonalds. Donek will have someone work with you and your riding style to figure out the dimensions and custom make the board for you. Considering what you get it's a really good deal.

Holy Moly bubba I hope that vide wasn’t u carving on the what looked like a Sims. Please don’t call that carving. I am far from a superstar. I do have a ok pic of me doing a 2 hand layout carve. Not sure how to post it. HELP NEEDED FOR THAT just sold the DONEK. WARPIG AND PROTO 2 FOR THE REST OF THIS YEAR. LOOKING AT A FEW CARVE BOARDS FOR NEXT YEAR????????. What do u like?

The DONEK is a ripper on groomers It is not an all time board. Just b carful on how wide u go. People r getting out of hand with how wide their going. It can get stupid. One of my boards is a wat pig 154 27 waist size 10 boots I can drag elbow all day and not boot out. Although with 1/2 risers under bindings. my donek is quite a bit stiffer and wider. But not as much fun to ride being a specific carver 28 waist. Dont go to wide or stiff. U will limit your riding and fun. Or do whats on my war pig don’t go as wide and put spacers under bindings. You can’t even tell there there and you’ll have a little easer board to carve with. That wide wide board is just another gimmic to take your money pure dum unnecessary. Just an ego trip. ?? timmytard that sure the hell doesn’t look like your on edge at all???. CARVING ???????
