ride kink?

I'm looking to get a new park board.
One i found for cheap was a ride kink.
But ive read mixed reviews. some said its a great jib stick.
others said the slimewalls were super weak, and that the board liked to break if you hit jumps.

another option i was looking at was this forum youngblood

.

Whoever told you slimwalls are weak doesn't know much about slimwalls. Urethane is used in skateboard wheels, which is what slimwalls are made from. They are less likely to break than regular UMHW polyethylene sidewalls most other boards use.

If urethan was week than I don't think skaters would be riding away from 16 stair drops to flat.

The ride kink won't break when you hit jumps, its just not that great for bigger jumps because it is so soft so it won't have as much pop going fast. Its built for park riding, and handrails so it has a super soft flex. It does have a slower extruded base though, that is the only issue I had with it, but you don't really need to go that fast when hitting rails.

I'd probably try and find a medium stiff park board, so you can still go fast and still have fun on rails.

If your looking at Ride, the DH would be better in my opinion for park than the Kink.

thanks for the advice.
i dont really hit huge jumps so the kink might be okay for me.
i do ride around the mountain some with friends tho, and i was afraid the kink might be a little too soft for that

not worried about what brand the new board is.
i ride a burton se7en right now. And i've found a new one on closeout for like 189 so i might end up just buying a new version of what im allready riding. The seven rides awesome on the mountain and everything, i just wish it had more flex

I meant to say polyethylene. Good job with the grammer though, and the use of language! Very Attractive

To the OP I would look into the Burton Hate, Primo, Hero, Jeremy, Condom or Dominant if your looking for more flex in Burton boards.

Get the kink, I would choose Ride over Burton any day. My friend just bought his 2010 kink a few weeks ago. He loves it, I think he might have sex with it he loves it so much. We don't get to many super kickers here in Minnesota either so he mostly uses it for street rails 6-9 foot kickers, jibbing around mostly. It's a great jib board.

What ever you get ride hard and kick ass.
