Found some in Syracuse at Destiny, $39, girlfriend was shopping and checked it out, grabbed 3, about 10 remaining, I think she said all 130's, both red and blue, 2017 CNY Snurfer League? :nerd:
Why diamond back bikes in particular? I never really find liquidation sales on things like name brand products to be all that great. the liquidation companies have better ways to get rid of good product than through a massive sale.
For example with my daughter moving into her own place I was hitting the Macy's liquidation sales pretty hard for kitchen stuff and almost across the board I could still beat the 50-60% off prices on Amazon.
Just curius. I remember when I was young and diamond back was smaller and only in boutique type shops. Sports authority baught out oshmans in texas in 2001 and all the sudden they were everywhere and a monster bike company. Around the same time DB sold out to Raleigh and the an even bigger company shortly after. The bikes never had the same quality build
Never owned a DB MTB. REI has added DB Fat Tire bikes to their line up. If I could get me one of those @ liquidation prices I would seriously consider it!! At $1250 regular price, I wonder if they're any good?
On a side note,.. I know as far as MTB's go, Trek is probably considered to be the "Burton" of that market segment. But I honestly never had a quality problem with any of the lower end, intro type Trek MTB's! They were cheaper than many other brands "intro level" bikes and seemed to be a pretty decent platform to start with and you could always add upgrades to them when you were ready for sumpthin with a bit more performance.
Their higher end bikes are very nice but they can get REALLY pricy!
Me too, I had a specialized Rock Hopper and it was the shit, until next years model had front shocks.
Back OT, I don't think that my Sports Authority even carried any gear besides maybe a few jackets and pants. But that seems like a good deal for those Throwbacks.
The SA around here was in the original list of closures so its pretty bare right now. And they knew what was coming so I think didn't really ramp up inventory for things like bikes this year.
The liquidation signs tends to draw a ton of traffic and people who jump on their 'up to 50% off' which is reality is no better than their typical sale. By the time they do the real steep savings their's nothing really worth it left.
The racks and displays are usually the first thing to be bought in a going out business sale. That shit is stupid expensive new and a steal for a small business to get on the cheap
Dammit, went to check out the SA in Torrance while i was there on vacation. Thought it would be full of super cheap bargains, but it was just 40% off snow gear. Not bad, but thats off RRP, and the season is already done. Usually find much cheaper stuff on WhiskeyMilitia
