I'm getting a bit confused about the size of my new board because of some mixed opinions I have read.
I'm 192cm and about 70-75 kilo ride for about 5 years and like to go fast on groomers. I almost never ride in the park.
What is the best size for me??
157 or 161.5, but wrong board IMO. You never ride in the park but you want a rocker dominant twin? How often do you ride switch or slow down to play around and spin off side hits etc? If not very often, look at something more directional and camber dominant.
What difference wil I notice between the two sizes. I want to develop my freestyle/play around skills on the mountain a bit but also I want a board that has some acces to speed. And because of what I was reading I thought this was a good choice.
It is still a good choice !
The T Rice is a fast board and its also great for jumps and trix.
I own a 157 and have 70 kilo.
Phedder is right. if you are only going fast on groomers, what you said in your first post, a full camber is the right choice.
If its your only Board and you want to be it a little more versatile, the t Rice is fine !
The length is personal preference .. the 161 will be a little more stable and faster, the 157 easier to turn and spin.. both will be ok
The t rice pro rides big. Think of a normal board where the tips start to rise and have a decent length on it, but the t rice cuts those tips lengths short. A 153 t rice has almost the same contact length as a trs 159.
So if you wanna hit the grooms fast, 157 is great for your weight. But if you want to be more playful and butter more, a 153 would be more suited for you. I am 80kg and I rock a 153cm for buttering and playing on the groom. 161.5 is gonna be way too long for you and the board is gonna ride you if you are not a strong rider. 161 would probably own in pow tho for you. It just would be harder on the groom to press weight for control with your weight. I have read down guys at 90kg using 157cm for the t rice.
