Default A few opinions needed

So I am in need of a new board, I'm currently using a 154 Aggression Arc freebie i got. After going to tahoe, Ive decided its too short, and not too stable when going faster.

Weight: 157
Height: 6'1
Boot size: 10.5
Riding style: Intermediate, usually ride groomers. Not much into park stuff.
Age: 19
budget: $500
Your location of riding: Usually ride Mammoth, lookin to go back to tahoe or go east a bit more to utah or colorado.

I know a buddy that can get me an awesome deal on a Herman Vaughnster Board, HV Snowboards. My friend loves it but, hes only been boarding a year, so I'm not sure if i should weigh in his opinion, as he obviously seems biased. His boards are carbon fiber and look to be well built, i know you can make the board stiffer, wider, pick your graphics and what not, but have any of you heard of or had any experiences with them? Also as a lot of you I know recommending, the NeverSummer SL-R and another one ive been eyeing is the Arbor A-Frame. A bit of pointers would help a lot!
Thank You

I'd take your friend up on his offer

Alright so i used my buddies HV Board the past few days in Mammoth, a huge difference between my freebie board and this. I was able to keep my speed much better, carving was better, stability was amazing. Night and day difference, didn't think it could be that much of a difference. Im about to make my order for one in the next couple days, but still tossing the idea whether or not to go 158 or 162. I have been riding a 154 freebie, and the board I borrowed was a 156 and handled it pretty well. Any thoughts?
